The Garbage Collector- Siddharth Singh

Earlier in India at Colonial Period there used to be Collectors to collect all sorts of things; most importantly, one of them was tax. But gone are the days of those rosy pictures when I must had been one of them in my earlier life. Being a Hindu I believe in the cycle of Life and Death till you get final salvation from it.

The Garbage Collector currently I am talking about is a middle aged person of lanky stature infused with sarcasm and enthusiasm. My daily routine is of one hour where I search the waste materials of home which later I would sell them to that Garbage Collector with lots of bargaining.

Bargaining in my view is cumbersome and frustrating where one individual try to sell something to someone on higher rate with a hefty profit margin and another one who bargains to get some discount yet knowing the reality he is surely going to pay much more instead of the actual cost of the item to be purchased. Yet many a times accumulating items those are not of any use for them in certain period or become a garbage. Never mind; since the invention or discovery of Notes or Paisas people do it regularly and for my sake I am trying to learn this system from the Garbage Collector.

I sell his Plastic Bottles at the rate of 3 rupees per Kg. Bear & Whisky bottles on bifurcating rates one costs 1 rupees and another goes on per Kg basis of 4 rupees. Don't know how to reuse them as not being a creative person I bargain with my Garbage Collector again and again to learn the beautiful art of selling materials on higher costs.

Daily News Papers that I read so enthusiastically; he purchase it on 7 rupees per Kg and if it's English Newspaper it sells on higher rates of 8-9 rupees per Kg.

And yes there are much more to be sold like Old Color Television for 50 rupees, computer monitor for 30 rupees etc. Iron, Plastic Bags blah blah bla.....

Now comes the legacy of my Garbage Collector, he has told me to recycle the bottles and big plastic bags to implant little plants that can grow in it.

And most importantly, he continuous each fortnight teach me bargaining lessons the most beautiful and brilliant art of human creation.
